I reached at Angamali railway station around 7pm and Sijo, a
staff in CILA, Picked me up in CILA’s vehicle. He drove to the house where I’ll
be staying for five weeks. I was welcomed warmly by the house owners. They were
so nice to me. It’s a two story house, where I’ll be living upstairs and Tommy
uncle, the owner, and his family downstairs.
I was showed
my room and I got my stuff arranged. There were already three guys in the
house, all of them staying here to do IELTS. Two are from Kerala and third one,
Sameer, is from Afghanistan! I was so glad to meet him. I told him he is the
first Afganistani I’m meeting. His mother tongue is Farsi (Persian) but we
spoke quite a lot in English. He actually was studying in Calicut University
under a university exchange program between India and Afghanistan. He also got
married with a Malayalee girl from Kasargod, Kerala, who was also studying in
Calicut University.
All these three guys I met from the house have been staying
here for a week. I took a shower we all had a very decent dinner. It was indeed
such a nice homely meal.
TESOL starts tomorrow and tomorrow is going to be a big day!
Can’t wait to learn and practice teaching some English!
